    Beck Hall

    A dog-friendly Yorkshire Dales hotel & bistro

    Once upon a time

    Once upon a time

there was a little hotel by a stream

oover an ancient clapper bridge in the centre of the Yorkshire Dales village of Malham lies the magical Beck Hall Hotel and Bistro. Surrounded by rolling hills and the most magnificent limestone
landscapes, our little hotel provides an enchanting escape from everyday life. After a day of exploring, unwind in one of our 18 whimsical en-suite rooms, while away a summer evening at The Secret Garden or spend a winter’s night by a roaring fire in the Snug.
    Beck Hall - Wayfarers Hostel

    Our story

Built in 1705 as a yeoman’s cottage, Beck Hall became a “wayfarers’ hostel” in the 1930s. Over the years, this quaint, riverside cottage has grown into a little hotel that is now being lovingly restored by new owners Andy and Louise Macbeth. Beck Hall isn’t posh or perfect, but its charming history, fairy-tale location and devoted staff make it a truly unique and friendly little hotel.

    Hotel manager

When she’s not leading exercise classes at the gym, fitness pro Monika is putting Beck Hall’s team through its paces. Her stamina & hospitality knowhow have taken her from Hungary to Canada, the Canaries & to Yorkshire, where her secret love of Yorkshire puds has kept her for 7 years.

    Evening hotel & bistro manager

Behind every great bistro is a great manager, in our case that’s Lancashire gal Nicole. Having helped launch The Secret Garden with partner & head chef Louise, the dream team has seen it through to today’s success with superb seasonal menus & a relaxed service that runs like clockwork. Tick tock!

    Head chef

Also of the Red Rose County, culinary extraordinaire Louise developed her prowess under Michelin chef Nigel Haworth & honed her skills in top kitchens. Her passion is seen on every plate, along with a helping of her colourful personality, keeping her dishes real & truly one of a kind.
