Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted with a hot mulled wine, followed by a festive cream tea served in the cosy bar area with its log-burning stove.
As evening approaches you’ll be invited to join your fellow guests and their dogs in the snug with its roaring open fire, ready to receive Malham’s much-loved Christmas Eve carol singers, who’ll deck the halls at Beck Hall.
A relaxing three-course dinner will be served in our streamside restaurant, accompanied by Beck Hall’s vintage Christmas jazz background music.

Christmas Day cheer

Tuesday 25 December 2018
Start the day with Beck Hall’s much-loved full Yorkshire breakfast, served from 8am-10am.
This magical morning is left open for you to relax, enjoy your surroundings and exchange gifts, before the Beck Hall festivities begin.
At midday you’ll be invited to enjoy a glass of bubbles in the bar, followed by an unforgettable four-course Christmas day lunch, with entertainment.
At 2pm, Santa Paws will be stopping off at Beck Hall with a special present for the well-behaved four-legged friends amongst us.
Later in the day you’ll be treated to a traditional Christmas buffet, we’ll do all the cooking and the dishes, leaving you free to sit by the fire, enjoy a Christmas tipple and treat or two, play one of our many board games or simply unwind however you wish.

A memorable Boxing Day

Wednesday 26 December 2018
(Extra night, add on from £110-£130 per room including full Yorkshire breakfast and a warming mid-afternoon snack)
Enjoy a leisurely morning with a full Yorkshire breakfast. For those looking to explore the stunning scenery on our doorstep, the Malham spectacular walk makes for a memorable Boxing Day and Beck Hall is the perfect base.
With a full tummy and a complimentary map, we’ll send you on your way. A warm bowl of chef’s delicious soup and a selection of sandwiches will be served upon your return.
The two to three hour spectacular walk takes in Malham Cove, located just half a mile from Beck Hall and named one of the top 10 geological wonders of Britain. This stunning cliff soars 80m above the beck and spans 300m. Climb the winding stone steps to reach the cove’s lunar-like limestone pavements, which Warner Bros used as a backdrop in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Next you’ll stumble upon Janet’s Foss, a mystical waterfall which takes around 30 minutes to reach on foot from Beck Hall, Malham. Look out for Janet (also known as Jennet), the ‘Queen of the Fairies’. Legend has it she lives in a cave behind or near the ‘foss’ (the Nordic word for ‘fall’).
A five-minute walk from Janet’s Foss, through a breathtaking valley, will lead you to Gordale Scar. This dramatic limestone ravine is well worth a visit, with its two waterfalls and 100m high cliffs.

A Starry New Year

A two-night escape from the bright lights and bangs of New Year’s Eve, with bubbles and chilled celebrations by the beck

New Year’s Eve

Monday December 31 2018
If you’re looking for an alternative to the hustle and bustle of city celebrations this New Year, the whimsical Beck Hall – set among the starry backdrop of the Yorkshire Dales’ darkest skies – provides a romantic break.
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with an outrageously good coffee and a selection of chef’s indulgent handmade truffles, not forgetting a treat for your four-legged travelling companion.
Your last evening of 2018 will start with a relaxed champagne reception and canapes in the cosy bar, followed by an outstanding four-course dinner in The Secret Garden restaurant. Our DJ will serenade you throughout, becoming more upbeat as the evening ensues for you to enjoy or move onto the snug for after-dinner conversation and tipples.
As midnight approaches, the restaurant’s panorama glass doors will be opened onto the streamside, setting the scene for a twinkly countdown under the stars by the babbling beck.
If you’re into a spot of stargazing, look out for Sirius, also known as the Dog Star as it forms part of the constellation Canis Major the Greater Dog. The brightest star in the sky, it will celebrate the birth of 2019 as it does every new year, by reaching its highest point around the stroke of midnight. We’ll have a map of the stars and a telescope at the ready.

New Year’s Day hair of the dog

Tuesday January 1 2019
Wake up feeling revived on New Year’s Day 2019, if the wonderful views and Yorkshire Dales air doesn’t do the trick, we’ll be serving a Bucks Fizz breakfast from 9am until 11am.
Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure be it enjoying your surroundings at Beck Hall, or exploring some of the wonderful sites on our doorstep. One of which is Malham Tarn, a beautiful glacial lake which was the inspiration for its very own fairy tale, The Water-Babies, and is just a 2.5 mile woodland walk from Beck Hall.
At 377m above sea level, it is the highest lake in England and one of only eight upland alkaline lakes in Europe.
To take it all in without the trek, the tarn is a mere five-minute drive from Beck Hall and has it’s own car park.
Either way, you’ll be sent on your way with a full tummy and a complimentary map. A warm bowl of chef’s delicious soup and a selection of sandwiches will be served upon your return.
A relaxed three-course dinner will be served in The Secret Garden from 7pm that evening.
